Witch’s Place) is an 8-hours drive away from Lima. Sapallanga is a high plateau in Peru which is home to the Huanka-Indians who used to be warriors. They have not only retained their original language (Quechua) until today but also their traditions and rituals. During the vegetation period of the plants, for example, a great feast with music is celebrated to support their growth. The Huanka are solidly grounded, have retained their original clothing and beverages, and after eating they traditionally still chew coca leaves. Others think they are crazy, because for them life is nothing but a huge feast. In Sapallanga you will come into close physical contact with the element Earth (in Marcahuasi, on the other hand, the contact is of a spiritual nature). At the end of this station a ritual will be celebrated with Mother Earth - to which traditionally all people of the village are invited. – They experience a holistic return to their center.

School Project Many adults living in the mountain region of Sapayanga did not attend school in their childhood. This project makes it possible for adults from about 30 years of age onwards to get an education later in life News: I am pleased to inform you that as of 12 December 2008 20 students between 30 and 60 years happily and diligently have been attending lessons in Sapayanga. Many sincere thanks to our teacher Katharina Husmanga for her commitment! At this point I’d like to thank all those people who by their donations made the foundation and organization of the school possible.
